Bellum Sacrum game designs #5 – Venus and Amor

Fifth in a series of Roman god design posts are the Roman goddess of beauty and passion, Venus, and her erstwhile winged son, Amor or Cupid, god of love. Wings equate with speed in Ancient Greek and Roman myths – Hermes/Mercury has his winged sandals; both Victory (Nike/Victoria) and Argument (Eris/Discordia) have wings on their back; and ‘winged words’ are spoken by those in a passion in Homer’s texts. Wings are the important design feature here.
