#ClassicsTober Day 12: SIMILE

A comic panel where half the panel is an image of a roaring lion about to attack a dead goat, with a dog and the feet of a man just visible. The bottom half of the panel is a stickman version of Menelaus, looking ready to go, and Paris in the background, whom Menelaus is about to attack like the lion, and who is basically dead meat. (Annotations on the pale explain this)
The simile below reads:

"BUT WHEN MENELAUS SAW HIM STEPPING OUT IN FRONT of THE MASSED TROOPS WITH LONG-STRIDES, HE FELT THE JOY OF A LION THAT HAS COME ACROSS A GREAT CARCASS, AN ANTLERED STAG OR A WILD GOAT HE HAS FOUND IN IS HUNGER : HE EATS IT GREEDILY, EVEN THOUGH THE RUNNING HOUNDS AND STRONG YOUNG
HUNTSMEN TRY TO DRIVE TIM AWAM.SO MENELAUS FELT JOY WHEN HIS EYES SAW GODLIKE ALEXANDROS [PARIS]- HE THOUGHT HE COULD GET REVENGE ON THE CULPRIT."
