I’m thrilled, honoured and delighted to have been added to the list of interviewees for podcast Coffee and Circuses! I chatted over the wifi with Dr David Walsh of Kent University last Saturday morning, coffee of course in hand, and here is the result. You can listen in on iTunes, Spotify, or Audioboom in your browser. Or below!
Laura joins David to talk about Greek Myth Comix, which started when she made a pact with one of her Classical Civilisation students to get back into drawing. She discusses her favourite graphic novel authors and writers, the difficulties in adapting the ancient world for modern audiences (and why she wasn’t a fan of the BBC show Atlantis), and when Greek Myth Comix got onto the front page of Reddit. Laura also chats about her work on the Amarantus and his Neighbourhood project from Cambridge School Latin, which aims to teach kids about life among the lower-classes of Pompeii.
I’ve also made a Twitter thread of everything I mentioned in the podcast, which you can read here or by clicking below:
I had such a fun time chatting with @d_j_walsh for #CoffeeAndCircuses ! Still feeling very honoured to have been asked (imposter syndrome gets a mention). If you’ve ever wondered what I sound like teaching, this is pretty accurate (though I don’t normally ramble on so much ☺️) https://t.co/wZ9WnKi25b

I hope that you’ll enjoy me prattling on about the things I enjoy! Have a great weekend!
